Starting New Books

Hi there!
Today I finally started my two now journalling/colouring books, which I have decided to create at the same time.
I also sketched a journal page for a dear friend of mine who asked for this prayer to be made into a colouring page.
Later on today I'll be inking these.

I hope to have both books out just before Christmas (wish me luck!!!) or at least in the new year.

Five pages

I have finished the five pages for The Coloring Project

I look forward to seeing this colouring book finished.

I had a nice video chat with Andrea (who is compiling the art work into the book) and I can see us working together more in the future.

It was quite a task to do two artworks a day to completion over the last three days, so I'm glad I have only one to do tomorrow.

Creative

Today's drawings are also for the Coloring Project.

The word I am working on is 'Creative'.
This was so much fun. I just went to town with lots of groovy forms.

I did have a little trouble at first drawing the word though. I couldn't find a style of lettering I liked, or a shape for the word that was pleasing. I must have just about rubbed out through the page.

But here is the sketch;

I'm actually looking forward to inking this. I think it will look terrific.

From Sketch to Ink

Today I have been working on a new book for The Coloring Project.
I am only contributing 5 designs to this book, but I am really happy to be a part of it.
The book will be used by therapists to change thinking patterns.

I had several words and phrases to choose from which would form the basis of my drawings.
The first on I chose was;
'All Bodies are Beautiful'.

My daughter is currently struggling with this concept (at age 16).
And I have had my own struggles accepting my figure.

So I felt inspired by this phrase.

Today I managed to complete the sketch and the inked design (which will be shrunk slightly and have a border around it for the book).

To create this page I looked at photos of all kinds of bodies including androgynous, busty and curvy.
I look forward to seeing this in the book with all the other great thought changing designs.

Welcome

I will be using this blog to show my colouring friends what I am currently drawing.

Today I will be working on two pages. One is a personal page with a monogram and a cosmic theme and the other one is an inspirational page that I am doing to contribute to a colouring book which will be used by a therapist.

I'll add some pictures later today as I get some work done.
